# Delete a job-change monitor

> Permanently remove a monitor and its stored monitoring data. Rate limit: 120 requests per fixed minute per API key, shared by all job-change monitor endpoints.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Job-change monitoring requires a **V2 workspace API key**. V1 (Bubble) API keys are not supported by these endpoints. Monitors and monitoring credits belong to the V2 workspace associated with the key.

Delete a monitor by `monitor_id`. This permanently removes the monitor, its profile baselines, and its events from the workspace. The monitor's results table is kept.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Deletion cannot be undone. [Pause the monitor](https://docs.airscale.io/api-reference/job-change-monitors/update.md) to stop checks temporarily, or remove individual profiles when you need to stop checking a contact while retaining its event history.

The operation returns `{ "ok": true }` after the monitor and its cascaded data are deleted.
